Tikkun Olam
Tikkun Olam means repairing the world.
This mitzvah fellowship attempts to do just that by studying current issues and creating opportunities for B’nai Shalom members to participate in community-based projects dealing with poverty, homelessness, violence, cultural diversity, and social advocacy.
Some of our recent projects include:
- Tutor training for the Jewish Coalition for Literacy (JCL)
- Providing school supplies for underprivileged children
- Holiday turkey drive for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano counties
- Serving food at Shelter, Inc. in Martinez
- Tu B’Shvat food drive
