The Worldwide Wrap is a signature event of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs event. Across the globe, communities like ours celebrate the mitzvah of “wrapping” tefillin. This is literally a hands-on experience, where those who have never or not recently experienced the emotional and spiritual feeling of enveloping themselves with tefillin can do so, and those who do so regularly can share their experiences.
Bruce Locke leads an abbreviated morning service at 9:30 am that is open to men, women, and children regardless of their affiliation with the CBS Men’s Club. All are invited to bring their tefillin or borrow a set to have the opportunity to wrap. At 10:05 am, we will be joined by the 5th, 6th, and 7th-grade classes of the CBS Religious School. Jon Medwin, President of CBS Men’s Club and President of the Western Region of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs, and Stu Kirsch, Executive Director of CBS, will share a brief presentation about the meaning and history of tefillin—including, believe it or not, the medical benefits of regularly wrapping tefillin. Adult volunteers will then help the students wrap tefillin, just in time to participate in the school’s Ruach Minyan.
All adult participants of the WWW will be invited to a complimentary breakfast courtesy of the CBS Men’s Club at 10:30 AM.
If you have tefillin and/or extra pairs, please bring them with you. Please contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with questions.
