4:00PM - 5:00PM

Like Lenin, who appreciated the “possibilities of cinema as a propaganda…tool” and often emphasized “that of all the arts the most important for us is the cinema,” Adolf Hitler also saw the value in movies as a way of solidifying the German people and turning them against the Jews. After the Nazis came into power, most Hollywood studios wanted to keep German markets open to American films and avoided making movies that portrayed The Third Reich in a negative light. EBIJFF Director Riva Gambert will explore and contrast the films produced by both countries in the mid and late 1930’s as the world moved towards war.

Admission for the lecture is $5.00. Free for IJWC Year-round subscribers who will receive complimentary registration. Upon registration, you will first receive a confirmation email. An hour before the program begins, we will email the Zoom link you need to join the event. If you don’t see these emails, please check your spam/junk folder to retrieve them. We suggest you add “notifications@wixevents.com” to your contacts list as well.

Sponsored by the EBIJFF in partnership with the CCJCC and Cong. B’nai Shalom.
