Tashlikh

Thursday, October 3, 2024
5:00PM - 5:30PM

  Location: Walnut Creek Civic Park

Tashlikh (“cast away”) helps us prepare for Yom Kippur as we repent for the sins that we may have committed over the past year. Together as a congregation, we recite verses of prayer, then symbolically cast away our sins into a body of water.

Prior to Tashlikh, Rabbi Stein will again lead a mini family “seder” for the holiday, where we will taste and explore the meaning of the holiday’s symbolic foods. The Rosh Hashanah Seder begins Thursday, October 3 at 4:30pm at Civic Park in Walnut Creek; the Taslikh service begins at 5:00pm. We will provide the appropriate materials to cast into the water, as well as apples, honey, and light refreshments.
