Kever Avot
Sunday, October 6, 2024
1:30PM - 2:30PM
Location: Gan Shalom Cemetery, Briones and Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette & Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette
Kever Avot (“grave of the ancestors”) is the custom of visiting the graves of parents or close relatives. The theme of the prayers recited encompasses peaceful eternal rest for the departed and an invocation for God’s aid to the living based on the pious deeds that the dead had performed in their lifetimes. This year, we will have services at both Oakmont Memorial Park and Gan Shalom Cemetery. Rabbi Daniel Stein will lead services at Oakmont, while Hazzan Sandy Bernstein will lead services at Gan Shalom. Both will be at 1:30pm on Sunday, October 6.
